Find Ancestors

Edmund Stiles was born in London 1865 and died in Walsall 1944. Elizabeth was born in Walsall 1870 and died in Walsall 1946 I can find them on all the census's but have been unable to find a marriage for them. On the 1911 census it states they have been married for 21 years. Help with finding a marriage for them would be much appreciated. I am also trying to trace the death of Edmund's father also
Edmund Stiles born in Kempsey, Worcestershire in 1838 married Elizabeth Jones in London in 1862, they had three children Edmund, Margaret and Emma. The last record I can find of him is the 1881 census age 43 living with a Fanny Stiles as his wife but I believe he was still married to Elizabeth and Fanny was actually Cousen nee Earnshaw

Where did you find out the maiden name of the woman claiming to be married to Edmund jnr?

Do you think I have gone wrong somewhere along the line and they are not the same Edmund Stiles I did not think there was a marriage for Edmund and Fanny
and that the children listed on the 1881 were not Edmunds children but were John and Fanny Cousen children. On the 1882 census for Elizabeth Stiles it shows her as still married.

Hello Reggie Elizabeth Westley is my gt grandmother and had the information from my late mother.

There is no marriage - as far as I can see - for Edmund and Fanny.

As Elizabeth was still alive in 1901, that isn't surprising......

There was a lot of 'funny business' going on !

What documentary proof did your mother offer for the maiden name?

I can find Lewis in later censuses, and this for Ellen
