I can't see a Sarah Gibson on the 1851 census that could be the one with two children in the 1861 census - apart from the Sarah who is with William C. Gibson in 1851. |

It sure does Kath.. Will look into this. I see you mention that William is listed on the 1841 census as a stocking knitter.. I'm not seeing it... His mam was a fair age wasn't she. |

When I said that William Gibson on the 1841 census was a Stocking Maker it actually just says Stocking M. - but the letter "M" on it's own usually means maker in terms of occupation. |

Does anyone know where John Gibson could be from? I realise he has died pre 1841 and could prove difficult. :-S |

From a tree on Ancestry it looks like the Sarah we had on 1861 who later married Charles Wood was in fact a Sarah Price who married a George Gibson and certainly that Sarah was still alive in 1881 as I have her on census with husband Charles and son Samuel so we can therefore eliminate her ! |

Ha!!! there were so many Sarah's. I did see Phoebe Gibson on the 1851 census with her daughter Ann who has married a Samuel Hubbard |
