Their address is 14 nelson Rd Central, Great Yarmouth.

Daniel is 33 and Gladys is 31.

Daniel is down as an Assembler.

That would fit with following birth:-

Births Sep 1918 (>99%)
Farrow Daniel R Murphy Prescot 8b 1290

and Gladys birth abt. 1920 (which would fit with birth I posted earlier) so much later than 1908.
So if this couple went to Australia looks like we can eliminate them from search. (Unless they came back to the UK)

Thank you for all the info on Gladys farrow , she is a cousin but not the one I'm after also the Pigdens are my relations I got the info from a Edward Webster of of hot matches , he says Gladys Pigden was age 3 in 1911 Her middle name Irene , Every thing else he said I've found

I've just found a version of the Webster family tree on Ancestry - it has

Herbert William Pigden abt1883 - 1912, married 1907 to
Caroline Louisa Wright 1872 to 1959

It does also say that Caroline Louisa Wright married George Edward Ellis in 1895.

So that 1930 marriage does look like a connection.

Have to say though, that the tree is totally unsourced so not reliable. It also has no mention whatsoever of a marriage to a Brusch (or anything remotely similar)

EDIT: - I see Mary must have found it too.

So - Gladys Irene was born in the September quarter of 1907, just before her mother married for a second time to Herbert William Pigden.

She was given the surname that her mother had at the time (Ellis) and afterwards was known by her step-father's name (Pigden) - although it is possible that Herbert William was actually her father.

To be fair to the transcriber on the 1911 census the writing isn't the best.

Caroline Louisa's maiden name was Wright which she has written on the 1911 census and crossed out.

She married George Ellis on 6 Dec 1896 her fathers name is Edward David Wright a Beachman and Georges father is George Ellis a Basket Maker.

This is from a tree on Ancestry and she has the marriage cert on there but she says

She was 19yrs and He was 21yrs.

It actually reads he was 27 and she was 24!!!!!!!!!!!

Good summary Kath! Yes, I think the fact that she's listed as daughter on the 1911 whereas the two lads are listed as stepsons confirms the paternity.

The name she gave for her father in 1930 seems to be a jumble of her mother's first and second husbands. If both were long dead then she may not have remembered correctly.

So MarieCeleste is correct. Gladys was only young when Herbert died and as she had siblings (or half-siblings) called Ellis perhaps she wasn't sure what name she should give at her marriage.

The Gladys Pigden I would like is not g farrow who is my cousin I got the info on Gladys Irene Pigden from a Eward Webster. Of hot matches. I've tried b d m to no avail. I did not know who she was until Mr Webster wrote me .
