Sarah Plant probably married one of the following people
Name: Venables Butterworth

My GGM Sarah Plant b. 1857 in Salop came north to Rochdale where she married (?) James Butterworth b.1844 in Rochdale. Listed in 1881 census as married, they had 4 daughters. The 4th, my GM Dora b.1891 the month after the census which lists Sarah as Widowed.
My Problem:- I can find no record of their marriage ~1880, his birth ~1844 or his death 1890/91, both in rochdale or her death 1928 ( as my father remembered it ) or subsequent remarriage.
Is anyone else researching Ellis or Butterworth in Rochdale. I have 7 generations of Plants back to 1705 and 5 generations of Ellis back to 1832but this one has had me stumped for several years, Ancestry.com has failed me, can genes help please.
