The tree says Edward 1900-1943 but I can't see his death reg

Looking at births in the September quarter of 1897

Gibbons Ellen Toxteth Park 8b 187 (- already eliminated)

Looks like Eleanor's family moved south so unlikely to be our Ellen.



So, next question, are we sure that she was born in Lancashire?

I think this need to go back to both original birth certs to see first what address is given for the births and second the informant details

There is still no evidance that Ellen Gibbons named on the birth certs as mum was born in 1897 let alone in Lancashire.

I have received the marr. cert. for ellen gibbons and Edward peirce, there is no father stated onit for ellen,only Edwards father William peirce.ellen is down as 32yrs old

To me something does not add up with some of the the notes above.

It is believed from Workhouse logs books found for Ellen and her children

Both the Workhouse logs and birth certs show she was working as a Domestic servant in the Briercliffe Road, Workhouse, Burnley and that two off the children were born there (shown on birth certs).
So I cannot understand at this point how or why the children were in a Mossley Hill convent which is many miles away from Briercliffe.
Ellen was still working at the Workhouse right up till she married Mr Peirce in 1930
