You have not past comment on the post by Maddie above 28 Jan 2014 14:32 A possible marriage for a Fred Holmes who married a Harrison in district Skipton, which is not far from Northallerton and their are births in that area for possible children to that marriage registered in Settle just up the road again from Skipton |

Your best bet would be get his birth cert........find out EXACT DOB. |

Thank you Roy. Unfortunately, I really don't have any details of his marriage at all so cannot apply for a marriage certificate. All I know is details up until 1915 and his niece passed on that he had moved to Rochdale and had a daughter named Margaret. |

If Fred was in the territorials then he should have a service record for WW1 although most didn't survive it may be worth looking on Ancestry just incase, |
