Oh that's right, how are you getting on with the Denovan/ Struthers branch? I keep getting waylaid and going on to another branch, every now and then going back to where I started.. These days I'm trying to tie up loose ends... Then a relation will say "Oh can you help me with this one" So I never seem to get out of the bit...

Ye! the Hydro was a bit disappointing, thought the seats were just too close in between isles and it was a nuisance getting up every 5 mins to let people who were needing a drink/food pass. We never got up once. The girls behind screamed so much down my poor lugs It was piercing my eardrums. Getting too old for this carry on....

Give me a shout...

Nancy :-D :-D

Yes Nancy,
It is small world.
You may recall that we also have the Denovan/Struthers marriage in common too.

Not sure what I think about the Hydro. I wasn't very sure about the acoustics.

I was there on opening week.... Fleetwood Mac
Since then, my Oh and kids have all been too:
Danny Elfman ( Tim Burton films music), Peter Gabriel and Vampire Weekend

We all thought the same thing. That it's hard to hear .....the audience!!

The birth cert of the Samuel whose birth I posted above, would give the date and place of his parent's marriage. There is only one birth for 1867 in Lanark on scotlandspeople.

I agree with mgnv. Janet and Jessie are interchangeable but Jane and Jean, while interchangeable, they are not normally forms of Janet / Jessie.

When searching the statutory records index on Scotlandspeople it is often best to select "forename varients". It means that Janet known as Jessie, Jean known as Jane, Jeanie etc., Alexander known as Alex, Sandy etc. will show up in the results found.

thanks mgnv, will bear that one in mind when looking on sp... :-D

In Scotland, Janet (in all it's spellings) is usually interchangeable with Jessie.

Treemadnancy

Treemadnancy Report 18 Nov 2013 14:33

Just about to Potty, I think I may have found her parents on the 1851 and 1861 census, 1851 says Samuel Lee born 1796 Ireland and Mrs Samuel Lee 1792 Glasgow. Which lists Jean born 1836 and Margaret c1844 who could be the one listed on the 1871 with Agnes Watson as "boarder" Samuel is listed on the 1861 census this time wife is named Charlotte Lee. Since the names Samuel and Charlotte appear in the family's name I am guessing this is Janet or Jean Lee's parents...

Potty Report 18 Nov 2013 14:18

There is only one marriage on scotlandspeople for an Alexander Watson to a Janet in Lanarkshire between 1861 and 1865. Have you checked it to see what the brides surname was?

Where was he reputed to have been born?
