Thank you everyone for your replies it has helped me a lot. I would think that one of the fathers could be the brother of Mary Ann Riley married to John Pearce. Now the crunch is finding his first wife who would have been mother to Christian Augustus Pearce b 1819 and John Pearce b c1821. I will make a note of all information you have all given me. |

ArgyllGran have you looked at the 1901 census there are a few William Butler it also gives occupation. My John Pearce died in Watford. |
