Following on from Chris's post, Bessie Ellen is still at the same address in 1934 but James Fraser Wilson is not recorded there. |

Probate gives fathers full name: |

Possible for his father in 1881 - occupation would explain how he and Bessy met (but you really need his marriage cert to get his father's name. Notice his brother John's middle initial: |

So this is her death, and children registered under Wilson/Paul? |

Yes, James Wilson is a common. Name, thats why i wasnt sure which one he was. But the drapery business clinches it for sure. His partner was Hannah Paul, born 1902, from Denver Norfolk. We have found her and her family but no marriage record for them... |

Found him on ancestry, just hover over the name and it displays the summary - I was looking for a shop worker of some sort, and probably a boarder as he wasn't with his mother. |

Can i ask how you found him on the 1911 census? I couldnt find him last night. I presumed he had left home and was lodging somewhere by age 21. Im now going to try and find where in Scotland his father came from.. thanks again..jane. |

If you let us have his "wife's" name as Pat asked, we may find a marriage - you never know, multiple pairs of eyes! ;-) |

Thank you to all of you for your help, it is much appreciated. My mother in law will be thrilled. His death cert got thrown away when her mum died and their flat was cleared out. This is him as he worked in the drapery haberdashery trade for years, thats where he met his wife, she was from Norfolk. But, as i say, there is no talk or record of them actually getting married.ans all we knew was he came from London and met her in the west end. Could have been anywhere in London. Thank you all.. |
