ScotlandsPeople does not list a birth of any George Elphick (or variation) - in fact, no Elphick at all - anywhere in Scotland 1900-1910. |

The two sailing records - arrivals 9th March 1911 and 11 March 1911 - give the same list of Barnardo's children. Very odd - same ship but different ports of departure and different destinations. |

Maybe not relevant, but in case it is, this may perhaps be the father of the George Elphick married in 1926. |

Just to clarify, the Sicilian left Glasgow 24 Feb 1911 and then went on to Liverpool where it would have picked up more passengers before starting it's crossing 25 Feb. |

Patricia does not state that he was born in Glasgow, just that he was sent from there. |

If she means the 1904 Greenwich birth posted 21 Aug, 17:06, it appears not to be the correct one, because of the death in 1907. |

That seems to support the idea that one of William & Annie's deceased children was the George Elphick who died in 1907, and that therefore Patricia has got the wrong birth for "her" George. |
