oooo...it just gets better and better....I have a photograph and on the back it says Eliza Leary / Higgs....Ireland potatoe famine...family from Ireland...!!...can you believe this lady is actually laughing at me....!!... I will solve this puzzle...even if she is turning me grey...!!...lol..What a family...so mixed up...!!..... :-D |

Guess I must soldier on and try to find Edward Higgs..if this is her real father and not a mistake on the marraige cert ....and that she gave her mothers maiden name of Higgs...?...lol :-S |

Yep...I do remember him well...although i was young then....I have always known his real name...he never used it...and always went by the name of Leary...my brother swapped his war medals for 2 white mice....!!...lol....but thats another story...!!...lol... |

Irish potato famine was in 1845 so maybe it was Eliza Higgs senior whose family was affected by it. |

Eliza was born in Middx ...I guess her mother may be Irish with regards to the potatoe famine...I don't think Eliza moved out of the East End...too busy deliverying babies...and taking in washing ...she couldn't read or write and failed her exams as a midwife....but was on hand to help the registered midwife when she wasn't around...lol....ah well back to the elusive EDWARD HIGGS...whoever he might be..?...guess it could be a mistake and Eliza could have given her mothers maiden name ..lol... :-) |
