Just for perspective, a tree on Ancestry has Peter & Susannah's marriage certificate. |

Although "Susanann" has the surname Cannon in the 1911 census, it states she is married..........so maybe? |

Surely Paul is Susannah's son born before her marriage? Peter Gullivan would have been 12 when he Paul was born, so highly unlikely to be his father. |

I think maybe that Paul would have been born as Cannon and not Gullivan. |

Not sure MC, there are too many Elizabeth Cannons around, their mother, but a younger sister for Susannah and a niece: |

I haven't managed to find anything on Peter other than the 1855 marriage (and his name on daughter's marriage). He doesn't appear to be on any census, nor can I see a death (E&W) nor anything on passenger lists, unless someone else has found anything? |

There's a workhouse admission in Manchester, 1908 on family search, may be worth checking out on FMP to view the image (Cornelius Cannon, no age given) |
