Sheila, I'm the other side of the river from South Shields - I remember in the 60s often staying with my gran in very similar housing (the family had been in the same home from 1897). My mum and all her siblings were brought up there. All any of us remember is the fun of playing in the back lanes.

Going back to David jnr - you could always get his death certificate to see who registered it. Wouldn't be surprised if the cause of death had something to do with his liver ......

Thank you Marie, it looks a horrible place, but there were lots of dwellings like this years ago.....there were plenty in my home town. But thank goodness these places are long gone.

All in all..things and life were very hard for our Ancestors unless they were lucky enough to have been born into a rich family.
Mine were at the back of the queue I am afraid, and not moved very far along even now !!!!

But hey...my glass is half full.!

Thank you again you have help me so much.

Best Regards

Sheila

You're very welcome Sheila.

I don't know how well you know South Shields but I believe Foster Street is long gone. This link is from 1931 and it looks like the street was in the process of being demolished:

Sheila, I think we should be charitable and say he had a troubled soul!

If you want to send me a pm with your email address then I'll send you the original newspaper articles.

Hello Eileen, Ann Corson was born in Scotland, and she had three husbands.

She had nine children all together five of them were Weatherhead's.

I don't think there will be a marriage for David..he didn't have time for such a thing,he was always getting his collar felt...and ending up in police cells.

He spent so much time there it must have saved him a packet in rent !!!!

Regards

Sheila

Hello MarieCeleste.
Blimey what a villain,..he spent more time in court than he did at home.

This is a great find,...but what a rogue,I reckon the family wouldn't have wanted to know him. I don't even know if I do !!!!
I wanted to know if he had any children...he didn't have the time,he was to busy breaking the law.!!!!

Thank you for all your time.

Regards

Hello Eileen...my David's parents were David Weatherhead and Ann Corson.
I do have a lot of information about this family....but it puzzled me as to why I couldn't find David junior's marriage.
I would like to have seen if there were any children to him and his wife....I haven't had any luck. maybe there were none to be found.

Thank you for asking.

Hi Eileen, thank you for your look ups on David Weatherhead.

Yes it does seem that he never married, and he did live in South Shields,so it could well be his death you have found.
