Thank you all for your help

Ann was born 1852 Pie Bridge,Derbyshire
have been unable to find her father Robert Armeisson in any census.

Problem Armeisson as different spelling, not sure on birth date :(

I wonder if Robert actually existed? Mother Ann was consistent with her age and place of birth through the census 1861 onwards as was daughter Ann.

Can't find a birth registration for Mary (on 1861 census born Alfreton, Derbyshire), but Ann and Robert's birth tie in with their stated birth places. Maybe one of the certificates could confirm their parentage:

Births Sep 1853 (>99%)
Harmeson Ann Belper 7b 363 X - this is a mis-transcription
Harmeson Ann Belper 7b 383

Births Jun 1855 (>99%)
Harmisson Robert Basford 7b 96

Now, that earlier christening I posted for Robert Armison in 1834, father Robert, mother Alice - they had 2 other children:

Mary Ann Armison
Gender: Female
Christening Date: 02 Sep 1832
Christening Place: RADFORD,NOTTINGHAM,ENGLAND
Birth Date:
Birthplace:
Death Date:
Name Note:
Race:
Father's Name: Robert Armison
Father's Birthplace:
Father's Age:
Mother's Name: Alice
Mother's Birthplace:
Mother's Age:
Indexing Project (Batch) Number: C04664-1
System Origin: England-ODM
GS Film number: 504529, 504530, 504531

And William, ch 14/10/1827, Radford.

I wonder if this could be your Ann, not married when the children were born?? Could do with finding the family on a census to cross check.

Just posting 1871 for info, and query re the grandchild:

Mother's Name: Ann Jennison

John Thos Jennison 13
Ann Armeson 17
Elizabeth Jennison 9
Margaret Jennison 3
James Jennison 1
Alice Jennison 1 Month <<mis-transcribed.

Alice is Armeson not Jennison, and I think the image state 1 year not 1 month. Maybe someone else could take a look. She could be the daughter of Ann or Mary.

Trouble is Choccy, she is quite consistent with her age in later census - and would be too young for that marriage.

Added: although that 1851 census looks pretty good for them. I found Mary in 1871 back in Derbyshire, will take another look see if I can find it again.

Ann and Mary 'fit' with the 1861 census posted (as to birth places) other than Ann's age. Could she have 'knocked off' a few years to be nearer to the age of second 'husband'? :-(

Don't think we can get any further with this without one of her children's birth certificates, or one of Mary or Robert's marriage certificates to see if the father is named - although both could name Robert if that was what they were led to believe

At least one of their birth certs would also give mothers maiden name, and confirm or disprove whether the mother was married to Robert, and at least if she was married then it would give a lead in finding her in 1841 under her maiden name.
