Thanks everyone!

I am about to order the death certificate for Marmaduke. I was hoping to ask if I should order his Death certificate "For events registered in England and Wales" or "For overseas events which were registered with the British authorities" as I'm still unclear exactly where he did die and have been thrown off a bit by the information he is in a war grave.

Thanks! :)

His death is registered in England ........ so I would get that one

Hi Michael,

Re ' I'm still unclear exactly where he did die and have been thrown off a bit by the information he is in a war grave.'

He is buried in Cemetery
BIXLEY (ST. WANDREGESILUS) CHURCHYARD

according to Christina's post from the CWGC.

My great uncle also had me wondering as he was on the CWGC register but was buried in his local cemetery.

He sustained injuries whilst fighting and was sent home to be with his family. he died a few months afterwards in 1915.

Perhaps Marmaduke was also injured in battle and sent home to be with his family?

That's a very good thought, perhaps so. I'm awaiting his death certificate at the moment so hopefully that will also add some more information.

Thanks again.

Hi Phillip

This is an old thread, and Michael may no longer be watching for posts on it.

First ................. please remove your home email address ........

...... this is NOT a safe site, and it is against GR's T&C's to post your own address in the open.

They can, and have been known to, remove your post.

Secondly, click on Michael's name, that will open a box by which you can send a message to him through GR's own messaging system, the private message (or pm)

Type your message in the box, then click submit.

If Michael still has the same email he used when he registered with GR, he will get an email to tell there is a pm waiting.

Anyone else seeing this thread and wanting to contact you will use the same pm system to contact you
