WEST DERBY Volume 20 Page 779 marriage Q2 1847 (June)

Trying to find the surname of Adam Aitchison's wife? I know that his wife was named Jane, but there are two Jane's who also appear on the West Derby Q2 record a Jane Burgess and a Jane Harper. Can anyone tell me which one was Adam's wife?

Secondly I looking for info about children they had, in particular Janet Aitchison (my 3x Gt Grandma, born circa 1848) who later married William Dunn. I suspect that the Aitchison family may have a Northumberland connection as the only Janet Aitchison I can find a birth record for was born in that area.

Finally I have found a Death of an Adam Aitchison in West Derby Q4 (Dec) 1865, can anyone help tie that to my relative?

It may be that none of their children's births were registered............there were no penalties until 1875 for not registering them

The 1861 census shows them in Toxteth Park, Liverpool, with a son John aged 19 born in Liverpool. Both Adam and Jane were born in Scotland, Adam in Dumfries. Can't make out the place name for Jane.

Unless they were born before the marriage, John and Janet cannot be Jane's children.

William Dunn married Janet Aitchison 13/10/1864 as far as I can find out. They had a daughter named Agnes, who appears to have been named after her Grandmother. The name Agnes continues in my family and I now think I know where it came from. Thanks again you wonderful people out there is GR land.
