Of the great grandchildren MELHUISH, Robert Keith Douglas is wrong. His name is Robert Keith Dudley.

I may have the information on my tree as my husband is grandson of John Ernest George Melhuish.

This family are buried in Geelong Western cemetery, Wesleyan/Methodist and lawn.

Also John Melhuish that married Minnie Maria Wright died in 1971 so the information on that was also incorrect.

Hi Mark, in reply to your PM, sorry I omitted the year Jas P WILD was born - it was 1858, in Geelong. He married in 1883 to Hannah ILLMAN (reg 2283, as Jas Pownall WILD). No chn found in Vic. Hannah died in 1938 in Collingwood, aged 84, daughter of Geo ILLMAN and Henrietta STANDWELL (reg 9205, as WILDE). She was born in Launceston in 1854; her parents were both convicts to Tasmania. Her mother went by the alias BYARD.

Further to above - marriage for Wm R. D. WRIGHT's sister, Louisa Ann (b. 1853) to Thos Edward LEWIS in 1872 (reg 3672). They lived in Geelong and had the following chn, all born Geelong except Mary & Edith (b. Richmond):
1. Isabella Louisa 1873, m. Edward TAYLOR 1901, d. ?
2. Mary Ann Maud 1876, d. 1877 aged 11 months
3. Edith Blanche 1877, m. Robt TAYLOR, d. 1958 Geelong aged 80
4. Thos Daniel 1880, d. ?
5. Edward Colin 1882, d. 1890 Geelong aged 8 (as Edward Collins)
6. Florence Victoria Martha 1884, d. 1947 Geelong aged 63 [did not marry]
7. Sarah Lydia 1887, d. 1965 aged 78 [did not marry]
8. Ivy Myrtle 1890, d. 1983 Prahran aged 93 [did not marry]

Louisa Ann also died in 1890 (around same time as Ivy was born I suspect), aged only 37, daughter of Daniel WRIGHT & Mary STAINSBY (reg 11969).

It appears Thos remarried in 1893 to Ada Malvena/Malvina AUSTIN (reg 5383). They had a further 6 daughters (first in Geelong, then Prahran and youngest 4 in South Yarra). Ada also died young, in 1905 in Prahran, aged only 38, daughter of Jas AUSTIN & Sarah SOLEY (reg 6699). Birth of Ada Malvina in 1866 in Colac to Jas AUSTIN & Sarah LEACH (reg 20401). Appears parents married as AUSTIN-BRAY in 1854.

Possible death for Thos in 1922 aged 69, in Melbourne South as son of Thos LEWIS & Martha PRICE (reg 10395). Possible matching birth in 1852 in Newtown to Thos & Martha (St Paul's, Geelong).

PARSONS.-On the 11th February, at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. T. Huxtable, Portarlington, George Parsons, aged 75.

He was the son of Nicholas PARSONS and Sophia 'TERY', reg 522.

Thomas HUXTABLE, husband of Sarah Ann PARSONS, was born in Indented Head in 1855 to Wm & Catherine (nee MOYLE) (reg 1515). HIs parents married in Geelong in 1851. Wm died in Bellarine in 1881 aged 59. All buried at Portarlington Cemetery. See also /www.ozatwar.com/will1hux.htm

The PARSONS family arrived in Victoria in Jan 1855 aboard Birmingham, namely George (27), Maria (20), Louisa (3) and John (1).

The later births show Wm as Wm Robert Daniel WRIGHT. Death in 1911 in Geelong, aged 59, shows his parents as Daniel & Mary Ann (nee SAINSBURY) (reg 5086).

John Albert & wife Eileen did have a daughter, Marie Louise, in 1919 in Warrnambool but she died the following year aged 1.

Louisa's death, also 1911 in Geelong, aged 59, shows her parents as Geo PARSONS & Maria KINGSBURY (reg 5103). Wm & Louisa are buried together at Geelong Western Public Cemetery.

Marriage for Daniel WRIGHT to Mary Ann 'STAINSBRY' in 1849 at Independent Congregational Melbourne, ref 3883, fiche 908. Two children Wm Robert Daniel in 1851 (Methodist Melbourne) and Louisa Ann in 1853 (Methodist Geelong).

Daniel died in 1853 in Geelong aged 31, parents not stated. He is buried at Geelong Eastern Cemetery.

As given above, Mary Ann remarried to Chas Pownall WILDE in 1855 (reg 1788). They had a son born in Geelong named James Pownall WILD (reg 2705). Charles was born in Tasmania and died in 1859 aged only 26 (reg 1623, as WILD), son of Wm Pownell and Mary [nee WARD according to Tas index].

Mary Ann is buried with 3rd husband Wm POUND at Geelong Western Public Cemetery, (reg 12553, as daughter of Robt 'STAINSBY', aged 73). She died in Feb 1904; Wm died in March 1911, aged 88, son of Jno POUND & Sophia GULLEN (reg 1497)

Mary Anne married Charles Pownall Wilde 1855 and then married William Pound

Daniel's trip to Australia was actually transportation
He was convicted of "feloniously uttering an order of 390 pounds" and given 12 years - he was pardoned on board

Seems quite a gap between these two births...
