	looking for the following family James Cowburn b: c1796, Westhoughton, Lancashire and his wife Alice they had 3 children details are as follows Ellen b: c 1828 Westhoughton and James b: c 1833 Westhoughton there should also be an older son name unknown The unknown son married wife unknown They had a son John Cowburn b: 1851 Westhoughton he married a Sarah Dootson b: c 1852 Westhoughton they married in 1874 in Westhoughton they had 12 children between 1874 and 1896 Any information would be great Many thanks

	John Cowburn born 1851 is said on the 1851 census to be the son of James and Alice - although Alice seems a bit old at 54 to be having children. It's always possible that he was the son of their daughter Ellen and brought up as James and Alice's son. Kath. x

	Well Thats how I understand it John cowburn born in 1851 is the son of James born 1796 and his wife Alice dootson Prehaps I have it wrong??

	AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRHHHHHHHH The original says Ellen is Married but not a word about name change or that that child is hers thats on the 1851 census
