to be sure you have the correct family you need to buy Reginalds birth cert

The family you are or your contact is connecting to John Davis 1883 married a Hack? so cannot be Reginalds mother

I also posted a marriage that fits the Davis Hoare marriage in 1915 and fathers name was NOT John

It is quite simple. As Porkie_Pie has advised if Ronald Augustus Davis's ancestors are your concern then you must obtain a copy of his birth certificate to ascertain for certain who his parents were before you can proceed any further.

You will need the birth cert for Reginald Augustus Davis

Have you asked your contact for documentary evidence to prove their findings?

My contact is a son of Ronald Augustus Davis and it is becoming obvious that he is uncertain of his ancestors.
I shall have a look again at;

and

You MUST work backwards..................until you KNOW how Ronald's parents were, you can''t get accurate info
