I am slowly making limited progress with the above Alexander/Sarah Errel and Annie Louisa(Treuel)/James Blaylock and have found various bits on the internet which showed me that both couples had at least one child. I know the Errel youngster died age 1 but I have no concrete info on the Blaylock offspring. With this in mind, can I ask if anyone has access to the births in Victoria, Australia - probably the Wonthaggi area - and would be willing to look for any Blaylock births to Annie/James from abt 1930 and the same for any Errel births to Sarah/Alexander. I would be very grateful as I am really stuck now. I have tried contacting the people who have placed snippets on the internet but to no avail - no replies. Thank you for reading this update. |

Had a pm from Margaret - she's hopefully going to be posting on here for some info about the Treuels. |

Hello Marie Celeste - thank you for all your information. It has been a godsend. I did spot somewhere that there was at least one child of this marriage but no name or sex given or year of birth for that matter. My apologies for late reply but I had a visitor for Sunday lunch and then had to go 20 miles to deliver shopping to 89 yr old aunt and only got home about an hour ago. I do appreciate all your hard work. |

As I said Australian death certificates give more information than English ones. I believe that if he had children they would be listed on his death certificate. |

Hi Margaret I've seen the same tree on Ancestry and they do have her as his wife. |

Thank you Marie Celeste for that information. Actually James went out there a year before his sister Sarah and husband Alex, so I guess it was them that stayed with him !! I did find another site quite by accident which showed a James Blaylock died 1964 (correct) and stated that the attached tree showed 3 immediate family including Annie Louisa. I clicked on the view tree but it was unable to get further. It was mundia by ancestry.com. I am now left wondering if Annie Louisa was his wife (as the grave says Ann) or maybe a daughter. The mystery goes on ! |

Looks like he initially stayed with his sister: |

Thank you Kathleen, that is marvellous. Yes he must have married in Australia as I have searched and searched and the only possible marriages in England are to an Ethel or a Mary. As the gravestone is for a James and an Anne I am convinced he married there. Many thanks for that info. |

Australian death certificates give more information than English ones, so it may be worth buying his death certificate? |

This looks like him leaving England but he is on his own:- |

Yes Kathleen that is the correct family. Jonathan died around 1926, Sarah married and emigrated and I cannot locate James marrying in England at all. As there is a grave in Wonthaggi - a small town at that time - for both Sarah Errel & husband plus a James Blaylock, I am hoping that this is the guy and he emigrated too. |

This looks like Mason and Jane in the 1911 census. They have a daughter called Sarah (who appears to have married an Errel) and also a son James, so this might be the person whose grave you found:- |

I recently discovered a grave in Wonthaggi cemetery for a James Blaylock and wife Anne who died 1964 and 1973 respectively. I am interested in this couple as I believe James could possibly be the son of Mason and Jane Blaylock from England and also the brother of Sarah Errel(Blaylock) who also emigrated to Australia in 1926 on the Orama and lived in Wonthaggi. I would appreciate any details regarding his passage to Australia, marriage to Anne and any possible family he may have had. Thanks for any info you may be able to provide. |
