Thank you and yes I think you are right about waiting for the marriage certificate to come back |

It's strange that there is no trace of her in 1901 as she married in 1903, very odd indeed :-S |

Don't order the birth certificate until you get Ruth's marriage certificate. There may be a clue on that if she gives a name and occupation for a father. |

I noticed that too very curious, I think I shall order a copy of her birth certificate, as soon as it comes back I shall let you know what details it holds, it's such a pain that they didn't see fit to list mothers namebefore 1910 or was that 1911 :-( |

That's what I was wondering too Amanda. From looking at the census records Sarah Ann and her husband Joseph don't appear to have had children of their own. |

There are only 2 Ruth Long births in the timescale. One of which has been eliminated as she married some-else. |

Right now that I have done my maths correctly (I am an idiot) it turns out that anyone of Sarahs siblings could be Ruths parent, I am now wondering if Ruth was infact born out of wedlock and that Sarah took her on as her daughter possibley, I may be totaly off course here |

According to the 1891.........Ruth is the Neice of Sarah Ann Long............so Sarah being the Sister of Ruth's Mother or Father. |
