I had been wondering about an Owen family name as it was used so often for the sons middle names.John Owen and Hugh became mariners-John Owen s mate and master certificates are on line. |

People did change their occupation fairly frequently. If He was the Thomas who married Elizabeth Rowlands, he was a mariner on the marriage and on the birth of the first Owen Rowland Davies, then a grocer for John Owen Davies & Hugh Ro(w)land Davies, a collector in 1881 and on Hannah Jane's baptism in 1867 and an insurance agent (another name for a collector?) possibly in 1891. |

Seeing as Owen #1 was bp Liverpool St Peter, and that was where they lived in 1861, my vote is for: |

I am a bit confused about Thomas - a grocer or an insurance agent? He or his wife is credited in family history with the invention / selling of Everton toffee at the Everton football grounds. :-D |

1891 census says Elizabeth is from Monmouth, the welsh link is confusing.1881transcript also says Thomas from Wales. |
