Maura, you are probably correct. Confusion was whether he was a cousin or a brother, dob varies by 10 years on the us census for this individual. and his date of death doesn't line up with Irish information. What database gave you Katherines m.s.? |

Mary its a waste of time starting a thread on Patrick when some of his information is already on this thread. He was born 1867 to Thomas Christie and Margaret Hamil, if that him in the census he married Katherine McCusker 1893 Phil, and according to the census he emigrated 1887. |

Yes all the children belong to Christy/Hamil, I wouldn't worry to much about her age being 60, it all depend on who the informant was, he/she my not of known her real age and just guess. My grt.grandmother registered her father death giving his age as 54 which would of made him 14 when she was born. |

Margaret Barnett & Margaret Barnard are the same person, the head of the household her granny states she couldn't read, but if you look at the original image she signs her name with a mark, so she could write either. It was a R.I.C. man that fill out the census, so he wasn't a Tyrone man and probably didn't understand there brogue. |

we are most likely looking at transcription errors. On the Irish census "mcaleavey" is spelled wrong so perhaps Margaret Barnett on the same census is really Margaret Barnard. |

I wouldn't doubt that Oliver and Jaems Barnshaw crossed paths. |

Might Oliver have worked for James and then Margaret married his conveniently widowed boss? |
