So they could have married abroad

Hello BM, it's unlikely that she did actually marry Chamberlain.
If she had, then her 1906 marriage would have been in the name of Chamberlain, not Ai(t)kenhead.
She most likely just lived with him and perhaps used his name. If he acknowledged paternity of the illegitimate children then they may well have been registered with his surname.
ADDED: Just realised you said Chamberlain died 1918, that most definitely suggests that they were never married as divorce was extremely rare back then. (Unless Annie was a bigamist)

Hi,
I have a Scottish relative (Annie Aikenhead b.1857 Aberdeen) who moved to London some time around 1881 when her first child was born (Georgina Chamberlain). She then had another child (John William George Chamberlain b.1890 Kensington) The father is George Chamberlain b.1853 d.1918 but Annie is shown on the 1911 census re married living with her son John who has dropped the John and George from his name. The man Annie re married is Harry Lewsey b.1869 they married in 1906. Harry is probably a nickname because he married Annie as Henry in Fulham 1906. Annie's surname is shown as Aitkenhead not Aikenhead when she re marries in1906.
I know Annie had 1 sister Isabella b.1851 Forfashire (Angus) and 3 brothers John 1853, Alexander b.1860 and an un named son b.1861 I found this on the 1861 Scottish Census.
Annie's parents were Henry Aikenhead b.1826 Aberdeen and Charlotte Lawrie b.1829 Aberdeen. They married in 1849 Aberdeen.
They seem to disappear though, I can't find the parents, siblings or Annie on any census, Scottish or England and Wales until Annie pops up on the 1911 census living in London with her second husband and her son.
So please can I have help in finding the marriage between Annie Aikenhead and George Chamberlain?
I would also like to try and find where the rest of the Aikenheads went after the 1861 census.
Thank you. :-)
