Reggie my mother only knows that the spoons were somehow connected to her mother and family hearsay was that they came from Mayor of Birmingham so looked at their surnames and saw one I recognised must admit never thought of having hallmark checked have to wait for someone to take me to town as I live in avillage and not allowed to drive but thanks for advice .At home recuperating thought I would try to delve into family history as this is really my daughters tree but I was just trying to find background rather than names etc |

So the spoons came to your mother from her mother...........who was your grandmother? |

It's also possible that there's a maker's mark on the spoons...............and, if you're extremely lucky, they could still be in business |

My grand mother was a Constance May Perks born 1914 her parents were John Perks born in Bury lancashire and Marion Turner born 1880 Tanworth in Arden Warwickshire which is why I was looking at this branch Marions parents were Edwin Turner and Jane Burman but have had athought Marion Turner died in 1918 of Spainish flu soJohn remarried an Alice Allwood whose family I had not looked at as she is not ablood relative. The Burmans are quite a renowned family in Warwickshire which is why I thought that was the connection but why would my grandmother have the spoons etc if not from a direct ancestor I can only do this for a short time as I loose my thoughts looked back at notes and discovered I had written that John Charles Burman was high sheriff of Nottingham now I am involving robin hood lol |

The lion and the anchor marks mean it originated in Birmingham (logical really given that he was the Lord Mayor there ;-) ) |
