My daughter's 36 and she wouldn't thank me for calling her middle aged!! |

No Choccy....my elder daughter is 30 :-) And I certainly wouldn't have appreciated being called middle-aged at 36! (It's bad enough that now I am 56 I actually am........) |

In 1911 Elvira (mother) Edmunds states 11 children 9 living and 2 died.....so I have 11, I know which two died and Eva wasn't one of them. |

Does anyone live near enough to look at the electoral registers for 45 Wellington Road Bridgwater in 1926? |

I think Chris is right, I looked at that marriage, but couldn't find them in 1911 for any confirmation. But the newspaper announcement would confirm it! |

I know you're not looking for him, so won't post - but he's re-married and on 1920 census with Vera I Gilbert in San Bernardino - she was named as Verna Irene on his us draft card. First arrive in US in 1909. |

Or, did women get the vote when they were 30 (from 1918) - I have this in the back of my memory banks somewhere! |

We came full circle with Eva - I Knew I remembered her - posted her likely marriage on page 5 - but couldn't find her in 1911 then either! |

Yes Flip I knew you had but, without actually buying the certificate, we needed to find her in 1911 and couldn't... I wonder what happened? After a grand wedding he seems to have left his bride rather quickly! |

A tree on ancestry has a son born to them in 1908 - Trevor Edmunds Gilbert, so maybe she stayed behind while he went ahead to sort out a new life for them? |

Flip, Chris thanks. Even though these are not now anything to do with my family, it's good to know what happened. It's also indicative of why we should resurrect old threads occasionally as more records are released. |

Well, I guess we finally eliminated Eva Edmunds from the search, so hopefully the records office won't take as long to reply as the will took to arrive ;-) |
