I have searched for a birth in London area for an Alice Lavinia White - none between 1875 to 1884 , may be she was born with a different surname, mother married and she became a " White "
Unless we can find a death for Alice Lavinia might be hard to find her birth
there are 3 births 1878 / 1880 for Alice Lavinia White 2 in Sunderland and 1 in Stroud Glous. - but as we have only found her on 1 census hard to say where she may be from

Hi Mavis
Thanks for looking. I will wait for the divorce paers from the National Archives and see what that shows me.
I might also get there eldest childes BC Frederock to see whether the details are the same or are different.
Thanks for all your help.
Maybe one day I will solve Alice

Candidiasia Re looking for a birth for Alice White. The 1911 census states that her place of birth was... London Pollypoppet already posted a census that fitted. The father was called William and he was a Boot Maker. I am reposting for reference

There is an 1870 marriage between a William White and Elizabeth Creasy in Bethnal Green The bridegroom was a Portmanteau maker rather than a boot maker but he lived in Maidstone Street, which is where this family is found in 1881
Although there is baptismal and subsequent marriage info on some of their children, I cannot see one for their daughter, Alice White

Mavis is right, this particular Alice White did marry Frederick Donovan. The address on the 1898 marrige cert is 62 Maidstone Street , and I can also find this Alice and Frederick Donovan with their own children on census returns up until 1911. Your Alice cannot be the daughter of William and Elizabeth after all.

I would say her marriage certificate to Nicolas Lacey would be a good buy! It should show her father's name.

I have found Florence with Edmund...so Alice Lavinia born Stroud married Arthur Franklin. But all irrelevant as we are looking for a Londoner!

New information has come to light.
She died as a Gullick.
I have managed to find a marraiage reference for a Joh Gulick to either an Alice L White/Lacey coincidence or what. 3rd Quarter 1934 Dover Kent, Vol 2a 3947. I shall be ordering this very soon.

Have been trying to find Robert and Mary Ann White in 1891 census - no luck - chance they may have had an Alice born after June 1881 ??
Would some one else like to try ???
unable to work out the names of the 2 after Lily - not what they are indexed as. the last one is Sarah Louise not Sarah Susan
I have found Lily White [ Lilly Rosabel ] in Devon but none of the others
Have worked out that Robert and Mary Ann are not married - I believe Mary Ann's surname was Keyton.

Update
Divorce papers are due any day now.
Have ordered the MC for John Gullick and Lacey/White.
I was shown a piece of paper which looked like a burial record for an Violet Lavina Guliick 1887. George believes this is Alice?
Will post when I have details.
Many thanks Candis
