I've been trying to find the births of the three older children with a mutual mother's surname but not having much luck so far.

Presumably Charles registered her death.......as they were purporting to be married, he would have given her name as Taylor.

You didn't answer the question about Charles's second forename.........was the birth I posted the correct one for him?

In answer to how she could have been buried as Taylor if not married - her death would have been registered in whatever name she was most commonly known by. It's certainly not unusual for that to happen.

Looks like Gordon's death tipped the balance for the poor father............

the children all died with him he gassed all His wife died o/n/d/quarter1933 she was born in 1898 brackley northamptonshire it states in newspaper he was 40 in the daily mail dated the 25th june 1934 and in an other paper says he was 43
