I am at a standstill with my research, maybe someone more experienced can assist me? I am looking for the details of Henryk & Teresa (nee Brown) who were parents of Stephen Wadowski. All have passed away and I cannot find details of either Henryk or Stephen's deaths. I know Stephen died in Leeds but can find no obituary or death notices. I have obituary for Teresa in 2011. I suspect Henryk who died in 1997 may have lived apart from Teresa and remarried but the information is just stalling. Have paid for birth and death certificates but they are taking weeks to arrive. Please, anyone with expertise, how do they raise certificates on Who Do You Think You Are on their laptops? Have search Genes Reunited, 192.com and freebmd for information. Any help please?? Raechel :-( |

Not everyone has an obituary written about them so you may well not find them. You could contact the local newspaper to where they died to ask if they have anything listed. |

The sites used n WDYTYA are probably pay to view and the BBC has done the research beforehand ! |

I'm overcome at your kindness in finding these details for me! This means so much to me words can't express. Sarah, Mike, Andrew, Jax and Pollypoppet you have just taken my search much further and I have spent weeks glued to various sites. I understand that Henryk was in a Polish resettlement camp but when I rang them many years ago they were obstructive and I can't be sure I called the correct camp. Stephen Wadowski has proved an invisible person both on register of electors and death notices. Thank you so much. :-) |

Not sure if this is your one or not (think the date of birth might be out): |

Hello Sarah, I think this may be a tad early and the name is spelt differently, however, many Polish immigrants did change their names and I was rather fascinated by the message from Jax as it would make some sense in terms of dates and their was some talk many years ago that the Wadowski had been shortened, but I understood from Wadowskovich, or rather assumed so, but that doesn't appear on BMD either. Received the death certificate of Stephen Mark this morning. Confused where the other Stephen Wadowski went as there are two births registered within same period but one Leigh and one in Leeds. |

don't forget that often, the poeple who complete the forms aren't always the people they relate too nor could everyone spell that great so often names can appear incorrectly spelt, sometimes written phonetically, shorteneed etc. then adding the fact that when the document is transcribed errors can occur so I wouldn't write off different spellings of names too early! |

Benjamin, it is advised not to put your email address on this open board. In any case it is unlikely that Raechel will still be looking at this thread so click on her name to send a private message, if she has kept her email address current she will be notified and able to reply even if she is not still a paying member :-) |
