Ann, could you tell me where you got that from? I found a reference ages ago saying he was born in Great Bircham. I think it was somebody's tree in familysearch. However I went through the Great Bircham parish register and didn't find him there. |

Thanks for that Joy. I know about the genuki site and also the Norfolk baptism project. Unfortunately it starts at 1813 which is a bit late for me in this case. I think I'll have another look through the genuki site just in case I might have missed something. |

Settlement records are in records offices. I have received interesting ones from Suffolk. |

Yes that's what I found a while ago but I'd forgotten. The submitter for the ancestral file is hgodfrey3390062. I think his name is Howard Godfrey and he lives in California. I can't remember how I worked that out. I'd meant to email him about this but felt a little bit uncomfortable. The only way I've found to contact him is through his work website. |
