Member Since: June 2006 Posts: 1,396 Send Message	I have a George Porritt on board the SS Rose Middleton on the 1881 census in the port of South Shields. He was born in West Hartlepool in 1851/1852 and is a 2nd Engineer. Would someone be able to check the merchant seaman records to see if he is registered. Thank you.
