It looks as if Grandad Gordon did change his name, and laid a smoke screen to hide his past. Having his family die in the Blitz was a good way not to have anything to do with them. |

Yeah, I've been looking at those too, although date of birth seems to come from death info. And we know how that is as good as the knowledge of the informant. |

Tried to approach this from a different angle in case father died when he was young and mother married a Markinson but no joy with that at the moment |
