Please can anyone help I have been trying for years to find out information regarding my Nan's mother. My Nan Minnie Hodgkinson was born in America on the 14th September 1897. to Father Charles Hodgkinson and mother ?? I undertand that her mother died not long after my Nan was born. My Nan had a brother Charles Wilfred also born in America. When my Nan's mother died her father Charles returned to the UK with Charles and Minnie and married Margaret Kirfoot a cotton weaver in Chorley soon after arriving 'home' from Amercia. I know that Minnie and Charles Wilfred are found on the 1901 census aged 3yrs & 7 yrs respective - residing in the Chorley Union work house as paupers. |
