Ii have robert & emma's marriage cert dated 1891 his age 29 emma 23 his father entered as matthew bainbridge vetinary surgeon , i am pretty certain this was a little lie his father described in most census 's as gardener or laborour her father as a seaman iwill have to dig out alberts mariage cert check if father is alive or deceased thanks again for keeping my brain working

in attempt to answer a couple of queries .yes i have marriage certs for robert rutters children .and he has been named as father on all three " not father deceased "

curiously it seems there was a robert rutter bainbridge dob 1883 His father named as robert rutter park tredwell bainbridge mother alice isabella [ Bell ] nicholson marriage 1881 sunderland this robert 's father also named matthew ???

Have you not yet grasped that the man born in 1861 married TWICE?

The boy born 1883 was dumped when his father re-married.

I noticed that on 1911 census Emma jane bainbridge had question number of children in marriage , answer 5 two have died
we were unaware of these births , shirley found Arthur Robert ,i don't know how but well done i now need to find the other child
the birth & death record search keeps telling me NO RECORD FOUND most annoying

if it was a still birth, the birth dosent have to be registered nor the death. I have come a cross this a lot ,in researching my family

I AM STILL TRYING TO FIND RECORD OF ROBER RUTTERT BAINBRIDGE 'S DEATH SEVERAL THREADS HAVE BEEN FOLLOWED WITHOUT SUCCESS HAVE CHECKED OUT ONE IN SURREY BUT AM NOT CONVINCED THAT ONE IS RETIRED MECHANICAL ENGR AND WIDOW IS EMILY BAINBRIDGE NOT EMMA AND SHE WAS STILL LIVING IN LONG DITTON WHILE EMMA JANE WAS ALIVE AND LIVING IN WORTHING AS MENTIONED IN EARLIER THREADS ROBERT WAS STILL WITH EMMA 1903/4 WHEN SON ROBERT MATTHEW WAS BORN AND NAMED AS FATHER ON ALL CHILDRENS MARRIAGE CERTS ." NOT FATHER DECEASED " NO RECORD FOUND OF DIVORCE INCONCLUSIVE RHUMORS THAT HE JOINED ARMY AS FARRIER NO EVIDENCE SO FAR ALSO RHUMOR THAT HE LEFT EMMA AND CHILDREN FOR ANOTHER WOMAN BUT NO EVIDENCE NO RECORD OF BURIAL IN WORTHING CEMETARIES
THE ROBERT RECORDED IN SURREY HAD BEEN LIVING AS MARRIED COUPLE AT LONG DITTON ADDRESS SINCE 1935 OR EARLIER SO I CARRY ON SEARCHING THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL HELP AND SUGGESTIONS
