Julie, The comment l made was for amanda has l had found a 1901 census for george in canada she posted asking where his wife was, l pointed out that he didnt marry till 1902. Regards Michelle

hiya everybody thanxs for all the help yesterday and the information it really does help.

I had my nan birth cert off my late father as he had it. So l decided to get her wedding as well.

l know george is the father of all 3 kids . But just to make sure that the reg office did not make a mistake l will order Ellen and Albert Birth but there are many gen member who have the Colclough and everything maches up perfect.

My theory is that he could have been posted to canada during the WW1 or after the war he decided to move work whatever.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record....I STILL don't think that's the correct birth cert!!!! (sorry!!!)

If we're going to fit Thomas Chambers in as the father-his WW1 Service records are on Ancestry. Pretty hard to read but:

Residence: 8 Peel St, Stoke-on-Trent
Document Year: 1915
Regimental Number: 29129

Says he married Ann Colclough (spinster) May 2 1915. Two children-Ann Jane born Aug. 1905 and Edith May or Mary born 14 Aug. 1912. Both were born at 17 Thomas St. (address given on the 1911 census.) It looks as though there may be other children listed but the image is too bad.

Now doesn't that seem like the correct one?? Not the daughter of George and Ruth?????

hiya there on my nan marriage cert is correct she married bertrum knox in 1932 on there marriage it listed annie dad as thomas chambers and bertrum father as leonard knox (Decised) they married at St peter church in stoke, stoke-on trent

annie and bert had three kids

Sylvia knox 1933
Eileen 1936
Thomas 1938 my father

they lived in thomas street in stoke

l am very limited about what l know about my dad family as he would never talk about them as all

The marriage cert should list occupations, witnesses, ages and addresses as I mentioned earlier. We really need you to tell us what it says.

Also, the birth cert you dad had, when was it issued? I'm thinking it wasn't given to him by your nan, but that he ordered it sometime later, and he got the incorrect one.

When did your nan die and under what name?

sorry my brain is like mash got a teething baby and sleep deprvived l will have to get the cert out as they are in a box from when l moved
