I have the marriage for Sarah Ann and John Andrews in 1865. Her father is given as Benjamin Watson, an engineer. Witnesses were Martha Watson and George Watson. I sent for what I believed to be her birth cert. The parents on this is Martha Watson, formerly Green, and Aaron Watson. I can't find any other cert to fit, and I can't find anything on Benjamin. Any ideas would be welcome. Thank you in advance. Curiosity. ps. I did wonder about trying to find Benjamin, but not knowing any other names don't know if it's possible. Update...I have now sent for the birth cert suggested by Vera....fingers crossed

Hi everyone, have just received birth cert, suggested by Vera. The fathers name on this is Thomas, a brick layer. The mothers name is Mary Watson, can't read maiden name, it's something like Barthorpe. I was looking for Benjamin, an engineer, now I'm stumped, again. :-( :

That was just what I was expecting. The name Thomas links with the census for that family where Sarah appeared with Thomas and Mary in 1851. . By 1861, Thomas has died and Mary has re-married to a Bentley Godfrey who was an engine fitter. Sarah is out of the house at that time.
My feeling was that when Sarah got married she quoted her father as being Benjamin and it is possible the registrar assumed his surname was Watson. Also at her marriage the witnesses were George and Martha. Sarah had a brother called George who married a Martha. He too was born in Lincolnshire
I have never been able to find anything on a Benjamin as father of Sarah.
