Obituary for Hy Richmond Sparks:
Williamstown Chronicle, Friday 2 July 1943
MR. H. R. SPARKS.
A well-known resident of Seves St., Altona, Henry Richmond Sparks, died on Tuesday morning at his residence, after a brief illness. He was born at Adelaide, Sth. Australia, 87 years ago, and had resided in Altona for over twenty years. His wife predeceased him three years ago. The funeral, private, took place on Wednesday morning, leaving his residence for interment in the New Melbourne Cemetery, Fawkner. Ernest W. Jackson had charge of the funeral arrangements, and the Rev. S. P. H. Martin officiated at the cemetery.

Rosetta is with him; she died in Oct 1921 aged 59. Above says '3 years ago' so perhaps he remarried. Edward Joseph WALLIS (d. July 1952 aged 64) and Lillian (d. 1965 aged 76) are also at Fawkner.

Aged 27 and 9 months in January 1915. Birthplace looks like Waring, Victoria on the original, but there is a place called Naring in northern Victoria. His dossier is digitised, go to NAA Recordsearch. States he had 2 children.

also Edward Joseph Patrick Wallis born- Waring? i dont know where this is,i assume could it be London?- this was according to their marriage details- dont know his birth date or parents -if someone could help please

Henry Richmond Sparks married Rosetta Faulkner on 30th August 1885 in Adelaide. Rosetta's father was William Faulkner and Henry's father was Henry Thomas Sparks.

Henry Thomas Sparks married Margaret Nancy Wight 9th March 1852, Adelaide.

If you 'search trees' on here for Rosetta Faulkner born 1862 Droitwich, you will find people with her family in their trees

Edward Joseph Patrick Wallis married Hy (assume that is Lily) Sparks 1912 in Victoria Australia. They are on the Australian electoral rolls and so is Edward Thomas. Edward T's death gives 1914 as his birth year.

i found a death on Edward Thomas Wallis and it stated parents names of Edward Joseph and Lillian but no other information- it wasnt a certificate just a brief summary of names

Wallis could most likely be Scotish.

Why guess about his birth year? His age will be on the cert

Where did you find the 'info' about his parents?

If their son Edward married in 1939 in Australia i am guessing the son would have been born about 1915 c so his parents marriage would have been around this time, if nothing is showing up in England then i guess it could be anywhere- i couldnt find anything in Australia

Where was the son born?

You say that this couple married.....perhaps they didn't. Names on someone else's cert are no proof

As the son married in 1939 - assuming an age of 21 - his parents must have been born at least ten years earlier than the dates being suggested
