Hi LadyKira, just had another look and it is a furphy, I'm afraid - Edward Albert was the father of Beatrice Annie SCOREY who died in 1939 in Brisbane, wife of Sydney John (d. 1951, son of Andrew John), so Edward Albert was not even a SCOREY! :-(

? Cherilyn ?
There is Edward A T Scorey that I was looking at. There are several possibilities for him but thoght Edward Alexander likely as his father was Walter Alexander but Edward Albert is possible. I could see no match for both initials.

Alexander Francis TRAIN[E] was born 1850 in New South Wales - possibly around Rylstone/Mudgee - son of George [convict?] & Ann [McGILVREY?]. He died in August 1915 in Townsville, Queensland. At the time of his death he was living at Stanley St, Townsville. His marriage:
The Maitland Mercury & Hunter River General Advertiser, Saturday 19 December 1885 MARRIAGES. -On the 25th November, at Thursday Island, Torres Straits, Alexander Francis Traine, of Eva Downs, to Alice Emily, youngest daughter of George Smyth, late of Horse-shoe Bend, West Maitland.
Alexander was manager and part owner (sixth share) of Eva Downs, a large station in the Northern Territory. His wife joined him there after their marriage for some months, according to newspaper reports.
Alice Emily SMYTH died 30th Dec 1939 at her home in Robey St, Maroubra, New South Wales (Kingsford district). I was qwondering why she and Alexander married on Thursday Island, but it appears her parents and brother were living there. More on her side at http://members.optusnet.com.au/~allansmyth49/smith_crothers_home_page.htm
Daughter Elsie May TRAINE was born on 6 Nov 1886 in Queensland.

Birth notice of a son of Leslie:
The Courier Mail, Friday 27 August 1943 SCOREY.— At the Grange Private Hospital, on 24th August, 1943, to Estelle (nee Blank), Wife of Sapper L. C. Scorey, A.I.F., New Guinea, a Son.
[He is named but is still living, I will send you a PM with his details]
Son Frank Richard married Agnes Margaret O'CONNOR. Daughter Ellen Alice married Sidney Herbert GOODYEAR in 1934. [Sidney and Frank, both truck drivers, got in trouble with the law together in 1950 when they stole some copper cabling!]
There seems to be a connection between the Qld SCOREYs and those in WA and Sydney but I can't figure out what it is.
Deaths in Qld:
1944/C4074 Elsie May Scorey F: Alexander Francis Traine M: Alice Emily Smyth
1940/C2401 Charles James Walter Scorey F: Walter Alexander M: Beatrice Dyer
Is there an Andrew John or Edward Albert SCOREY in your tree?

Scorey Family - (Southampton - Hampshire) My Scorey family originated in the New Forest and had come to Southampton by c1805. I am interested in all the families of that name and have lots of information on many of them that I am willing to share. As many moved away from Hampshire I have collected information on them wherever they are found. I have now started a one-name study on the SCOREY surname, and have considerable baptism, marriage & burial indexes, plus entries from civil registration indexes. Family Surnames: Scorey
