Yes I looked at that marriage...found them in 1911 - and without paying for the census (drat that this is an area not yet transcribed on A) I think she is Annie in 1911...and the age is wrong (33 instead of 31) but then Edward - assuming same one gives his age in 1911 as 35 not 33! |

safc - brilliant! There were two William Astons around the right time and place...and I plumped for William Harold H on the basis that the H might be for Homer....it is sooooooooooooo good when a hunch comes off! |

To share my thoughts....I have a marriage in 1899 - Sarah A Homer to Emmanuel Edmund Purchase. I have found them in 1901 and 1911 - place of birth shown as Coseley Staffs - which is 3 miles from Dudley. |

I think Louise (transcribed as Lainie in 1911) is actually Emily Louisa - Emily L in 1891 and 1901 censuses. |

That baffled me too Jude but I think that Penny is referring to the fact that she was alive in 1881 when she is said to be 9 in 1891. |

Penny - not with you! This is them in 1881 - Charity was Oliver before her marriage and Sarah Ann is their eldest daughter - the only one missing in 1911 (I have assumed she was married and living elsewhere ....haven't found her in 1901 either. |

1881 complicates it a bit more |
