Find Ancestors

Please may I have some help finding information about him and his wife Gladys (maiden name unknown, that's one of the things I'd like to find out).

CRC was born, I believe, in Sleaford in 1905, I think he was married in 1928 also in Sleaford.

He had a brother, Joseph Leonard, and two sisters, Edna & Nellie.

He had one son, John Leonard, born 26 March 1932 - he's the reason I'm asking, he's my ex brother in law, about to be 80, and a nice guy :-))

I have no information about their parents, if you can help me find this I'd be grateful.

I'd also really like some family history for Gladys: rumour has it that she fell out with her family and fell into her husband's, consequently nothing is known about her, her parents and siblings, or any of their descendants.

Nellie married Len Rose and had one son, Leonard.

Edna married John Day and had one son, also John.

No dates or further details are known for these familes.

So my primary focus is Gladys, secondary focus the parents of CRC and his siblings, and thirdly information on the siblings.

Once I have some information on Gladys, I'm going to want to see whether there are any living relatives, so if anything like that happens along then that would be great.

Thank you again, Vera, that 1911 on Gladys could fit, "fell out with her parents" could mean at very early age and she went to live with the Brackenburys.

The death record for Gladys ties with another piece of family hearsay, that she committed suicide around that time. Thanks LiverBird.

So Gladys seems to have benn "given" to the neighbours before her 4th birthday and grew up with the Brackenburys.

But she is listed as a relative so probably on the Mrs Brackenbury side?

What do you make of that, LiverBird?

There were two little Owenses living with them in 1871, then in 1911 another little Owen(s). I suppose we can treat Owen and Owens as the same?

Might Gladys be the daughter of Emma W or Harriet AL? No surname change might indicate a "father not known"?

Does nurse child imply Maria was their wet nurse? Seems strange that the two little Owenses with the same age have different status.

What's the most likely interpretation here? That Maria had been married before (or had had children before) and George adopted them?

Maria Owen born 1843/4 married George Brackenbury O/N/D 1868 Horncastle 7a 1045.
There is only one male one the record so put in search George Brackenbury marriage 1868 and he comes up on his own. 7a

The two Owen girls were Maria's.
Emma Agnes Wright Owen 1865- 1945 and Harriett.

There is a tree on Ancestry with this but double check.
