Hi all you lovely people who have provided information on my Grandmothers father John Wair 1856,from his service record onwards. The information on my Grandmothers sister Grace is most helpful and I will be hoping to find out more information on her descendants.

I am related to John Wair's second wife Florence, their daughter had no children but my grandmother Gertrude Tancock was her niece. I have copy of a diary of his service in the Boer War. Please contact me for more info.....

Angela, since the thread is 6 years old I doubt that Donald will be looking at it. I would think that he'd be thrilled to see a copy of the diary that you mention. Why not click on his name and send a personal message?
