I did see that one on the "free" search that I did, but couldn't think why "ours" might be in Maidstone! |

Incidentally, mother Sophia's age is wrong on the 1891 Census ................. it is more like 52 on the iamge, meaning she was born ca 1839, and fitting ebtter with the 1881 Census. |

Yes, chrissiex. I was reading through the thread again and realised nobody had taken up your suggestion. |

so it seems that Elizabeth Elsley who died in 1891, was NOT Elizabeth Elsey |

good Ozibird, that's what I meant, searching the censuses to see whether the possibles could be ruled out ... |

This may be the Elizabeth from the 1898 death as the age is right. It certainly casts some doubt. |

There are 3 or 4 trees on ancestry with the Neal(e)s and Elseys, and good documentation ........ but no-one seems to have Elizabeth's death! |

I got the impression Thomas was an elderly relative. We don't know if it's his father, maybe an uncle? My thoughts - the males are listed then the females. |

Here they are in 1871, with Elizabeth's brother living with them ...... and the image says nothing about her being blind and deaf, which is what it says n the 1881. |

I'm a bit puzzled by the order of the people on that 1881 Census |
