It doesn't seem strange at all, RobyNZ.
As said, Stewart is such a common name. In addition, the Scottish 1939 register isn't searchable like the English one, so we can't really use online records to trace the family after 1911 (and with difficulty in 1911). Scottish death records would be the only hope, if mms is listed.
I don't se any sign of James Storer Stewart having died, either in Scotland or England/Wales. although of course if he has died in the last few years, it will not be recorded online unless in an obituary.
I hope your Facebook page proves fruitful.

Thanks for your assistance.
I have set up a private page on Facebook for descendants of James & Janet (Storer) to share stories & photos. Strangely the family that remained in Greenock have been the hardest to find.
Regards

Possibly a complete red herring -
192.com shows a Morag M Stewart, with a James S Stewart, living at a Nottingham address on 2003 electoral roll.
They seem to have been still there in 2011-13, although without the middle initials being given.
With that in mind, I wonder if this could be Morag's death ??

Or click on "Contact obituary owner" on that link. Don't know if that means A W Lymn, or a relative.

Unfortunately it's impossible to tell if James and Morag had any children, as it's not possible to use mms as a search term on SP for births after 1854.
And Stewart is such a common name.
SP doesn't show any Stewart births with middle name Storer, which would have been a useful clue! Lots of Stewart children have middle or first name Malcolm - so no use in identifying possible children of J&M.

Dear all thanks for your assistance in the past it really helped, I managed to reconnect with the Canadian cousins and am now Sharing fami,y info and photos.
Please could you help me with another dilemma.
Janet (nee Storer) & James Stewart's eldest son also James remained in Greenock/Glasgow married Elizabeth Young. They had 2 sons David & Daniel. Daniel. was killed in WW2 but David married Letitia. They had one son James Storer Stewart.
I have been trying to track any possible family of James Storer Stewart.
I know they were still living in the Greenock as my Gr8 Uncle John Barrie stayed with his cousin around 1979. David died in 1985/86
If you could point me in the right direction that would be much appreciated
Many thanks
