Many thanks, MarieCeleste. This looks right - I'll search the census material to see what I can find now. It might give me a clue as to whether she did die young or simply 'went'. |

Tried that but I think she died young, leaving a very young family behind as William's mother was living with him and his children at one stage. Of course, she could have 'done a runner' but without the right surname I have been unable to trace her. |
