Hello,
I have a birth and baptism certificate for mary harvett, born 26th january 1898 and baptised 29th january. Her parents are listed as joseph harvett and brigid mcevoy. I can't find any census entries or a marriage for her parents?? I have found her marriage to george lewis adams on 7 nov 1936 in battersea. On her marriage cert her father is listed as deceased so he was dead by 1936. On her identity card she lists her maiden name as Harvey not Harvett. Thank you.

Was Rathdowney the place of birth? - If so, we are looking at Irish records here. - Co. Laois !!

Yes it is. Thats what I'm dreading as I have had such trouble with another irish line :(

Irish census 1901 and 1911 are free on line I believe - I will go and find the website (unless anyone else has it to hand??)

On the baptism one of the sponsors is a Patrick Fogarty so that looks great. Thank you.

She is there again in 1911 - living with her aunt Margaret.

Thank you, so looks like she lost her mum very young and her dad shortly after then.

Try amending your heading to include 'Irish research needed' or something similar.

There is a lady called eringobragh who is great at this sort of thing!!

I don't know much about Irish research I am afraid.
