Just to add that Sandra did ask me by pm and it seems that all the deaths registered in that qtr for that area are missing off of freebmd also there is no image to view on ancestry |

Further to my previous post, this is the only Francis Wing death with similar details that I can find on free BMD. It is not my Francis as the age at death doesn't tally. |

I am puzzled, have I not given the correct info? Recvd fllwg info back from GRO (should I perhaps have given London as District name?): |

Looking at the age, I think Minnie could actually be Frances Annie Wing, acc to IGI christened 28 Sep 1862, East Grinstead. Haven't found any further details regarding her. |

I thought Minnie could be Harriet but changed my mind.... there is another called Anne born at the right time and place so will have a look for her now. No record of a Minnie anywhere |

Oh that is very interesting and thanks for looking into that. Think will try and obtain birth & death certificate as they should give me confirmation re parents and the death cert also regarding cause of death and address. |

Am going to order death cert of Francis Wing today and keep you posted, it may be a long shot but worthwhile to investigate. Very intriguing as his son Frank deserted his wife (my ggrandmother) and family when he was in his 40's - how peculiar (or not??). Frank hasn't left any trail whatsover, very frustrating. |

It is possible that Francis is not dead as early as you think |

Oh thank you for the swift replies. I had already found this information, but I reckon that this is Frances (she was born in West Hoathly in 1837 and would have been around 33 at the time of the 1881 census) with her children. The person who wrote the details on the Census records most likely made a spelling mistake. In the 1861 census Frances is recorded as Sarah and Francis as Frances! Another strange thing is that apart from Frank Wing, I can't find any of his siblings in the 1881 census records. |
