Electoral registers are held at the nearest main library for the district. I have no idea re. Wolstanton, Stoke on Trent maybe?

Hi Jean.
Have you got an address for Harriet from the death cert? Might be worth checking it out the electoral register 1918 onwards to see if any Podmores there (remember all males over 21 got vote 1919). You need to do this is person though, or someone who works there will have to, for which there will probably be a charge.

BrummieJan have taken your advice and got Harriet Podmore Death Cert. her husband John Podmore is not reg as the informant so he eather died before her or just left. There was an inquest held.

So in fact you know he was deceased by 1936? I might be inclined to get Harriett's death cert to see if it sheds any light.

If that is him then he must have left Staffordshire after Harriet Died but wonder why he left his children .

No Jan all i know is that my father and his siblings grew up with some family member but don't know who

Jan yes have got Birth & Marriage cert of my father that is his marriage and on it say's father was deceased.

So are you sayting you do have an idea when he died??

Jan don't think that can be him as he was my Dads father and he lost both his parents when he was only 6/7. But thank you very much for looking.

Having been nosy and viewed your Ancestry tree, have you got marriage cert of his son John to see what it says?

Do consider the Stoke death above. According to Freebmd Wolstanton basically became part of Stoke=on-Trent in 1935 (if I understand it correctly).
