Just a way out thought but as everyone else is having them.... I have found a marriage of Martha Briggs ref Halifax 9a 487 June qtr 1852. This wouldn't be before Alice's birth but it would be before George's birth in 1853. When I have looked for the possible partner there are only 4 names when there is usually an odd number of potential spouses. Could Martha have come back 'home' to Rastrick which comes under Halifax and married someone, whose name is missing off freebmd. ...then gone back to Nottingham. -jl |

You are welcome - This one has me quite fascinated - I am 'like a dog with a bone' when I can't find what I am looking for. I can't let go until I find something. |

Isn't it just - I think Sherlock Holmes, Agatha Christie and even Scooby Doo and his gang would have trouble solving this 1 :o) |

I know this does not help finding anyone, but it gives an idea of where they lived. Pictures of the Stag Yard and Barker Gate areas at http://www.picturethepast.org.uk also huddersfield family history society is very active. You could check out their website, one of their booklets might hold the key. |
