Hi there. Yes I did find Thomas and James on the 1841 census and Thomas on the 1851. I will have another look at the information you have found on the 1851. I do know of a Round Hill at Rastrick but I can't just bring one to mind at Kirkheaton just at the moment, but that doesn't mean there isn't one. Thank you for keeping everyone posted.-jl |

Yes, we can scrap the Rowley Hill James as although he was married to a Martha before Harriett it's not the James listed in the 1841 with Thomas. |

Was it you Janet that found the James 1811 and Thomas 1830 living together in 1841 census and suggested that Thomas may be the brother to Alice and George etc as listed on the 1871 census in Nottingham ? |

There was one marriage at Kirkheaton which I have just found in my note book ,that was a James Denton Bachelor to an Elizabeth Stafford Spinster on the 30th Dec 1828. The witnesses were Richard Blackburn and a David Sugden. I think I have dismissed it but I cannot remember why-jl |

Its interesting that she describes her father as a weaver,as that was his original occupation, but when she was born he was a labourer. Did he go back to the weaving area of Huddersfield?-jl |

Thank you for the update-glad you enjoyed your holiday. I did spend some time in the Huddersfield library looking for an original marriage for James Denton but sadly couldn't find anything. I was hoping to give some answers. Hope the certificate might help in your quest.-jl |
