I have said this before but my grand mother had the middle name of mary on her birth cert....when she married not only did she now have two middle names but it had now become Gertrude Ellen??? |

It was a lot of mistranscribed names back then and also I would imagine they forgot half the time what middle names they gave thier children, in some cases thier first names lol |

I don't know how long you've been doing this family history lark, but one thing most people find out quite quickly is that names are not set in concrete. People make mistakes all the time for all kinds of reasons. For example, has anybody written your name with the wrong spelling? I get it all the time and yet it is a fairly straight-forward name. |

OK, in the menu on the left-hand side of this page you'll see "My thread participation" under Tools. Click on that and it will bring up all your own threads or all the ones you've ever posted on. The icon on the left tells you if new messages have been posted since you last checked. |
